(Cluster Orbit Maintenance Evaluation Tool)

Emergent's Cluster Orbit Maintenance Evaluation Tool (COMET) simulates a cluster of satellites in MATLAB. It includes a high fidelity gravity model, RK integrator, navigation algorithms, and closed-loop orbit maintenance algorithms. It aids in the analysis of long-term station keeping performance of the cluster. COMET can rapidly simulate formation and parameter changes within performance constraints, determine the navigation systems necessary to meet a performance requirements. It also abstracts guidance, navigation, and control interfaces to promote the investigate new autonomous navigation and orbit maintenance methodologies.

The current version has several navigation algorithm options including GPS PVT, GPS pseudorange filter, relative ranging, and carrier-differential GPS. Orbit maintenance algorithm options include Emergent's Orbit Maintenance Service (OMS) with Maneuver Planning Service (MPS), a relative orbit element (ROE) targetter, receding horizon control using linear programming, and the flocking controller.
