Emergent Certified CMMI Level 3

Emergent Space Technologies has been audited by the highly experienced
third party software process improvement consultants and SEI Partners,
Martin Process Solutions, and has been certified at CMMI level 3,
staged for development. This certification is recognition that
Emergent’s project management and software development processes are in
compliance with the SEI’s guidelines for a Maturity Level 3
organization.
The announcement was made by company President, Dr. George Davis, who
said, “Emergent is proud of this accomplishment because it is a
reflection of the internal commitment we have made to providing the
highest quality software products to our customers. Good engineers
abhor chaotic environments and Emergent has some of the best software
engineers in the industry. We wanted to ensure that our processes gave
them the tools they needed to do what they do best, create great
products.”
The CMMI Maturity Level 3, Staged rating confirms an organization’s
ability to use continuous improvement to improve and share ideas,
provide disciplined and documented approaches, and provide standardized
enterprise solutions to the key process areas that distinguish well run
projects. These include project planning, risk management, quality and
project monitoring and control. At Emergent this has improved the work
environment for our engineering staff, reduced the time required to
plan and execute projects and helped to catch defects early in the
software development and systems engineering project life cycles. The
result is better products for our customers at a lower cost.
